Target Kits

As well as offering our milk progesterone test kits we can also offer Rapid Progesterone Kits for dogs, cows and horses for use in veterinary clinics, as well as an IgG kit for newborn foals.

Bovine Target Kits

 Bovine Target Kits
  • This kit is an accurate method for determining the presence of a corpus luteum (CL) and for determining if it is producing progesterone.
  • By identifying open cows earlier this kit will reduce the days open and lower costs.
  • Recommended for use in embryo transfer programs to check if there is adequate progesterone level in the recipient to support the embryo.
Bovine Target Kits can be used:
  • With Prostaglandin injection
  • To confirm heat
  • To identify cysts
  • For embryo transfer

Canine Target Kits

 Canine Target Kits
  • The main reason for unsuccessful breedings is improper timing.
  • Accurate timing is important for breeding success especially when the breeding is done with fresh chilled or frozen semen.
  • This kit will enable the user to determine the optimum time for fertilisation.

Equine Target Kits

Equine Target Kits
  • The mare’s reproductive cycle is subject to great variability. Measuring the progesterone concentration permits the most accurate determination of where the mare is in her cycle and allows planning of the most effective reproductive program.
Equine Target kits can be used:
  • With prostaglandin injection
  • With Regu-Mate
  • To monitor pregnancy
  • For embryo transfer

IgG Kits

IgG Kits
Foals are born with little or no circulating immunoglobulins. They are therefore without protection against challenge from invasive micro organisms or other antigenic substances. The passive transfer of immunity occurs after birth via ingestion and absorption of colostrums. Up to 20% of newborn foals experience a partial or total failure of passive transfer, and these animals are at high risk of serious illness or death. Failure of this passive transfer can occur as a result of premature lactation, deficient suckling, malabsorption or low IgG levels in colostrum.

An IgG test can identify if a failure of passive transfer has occurred or not. This test detects the levels of IgG in the blood which are indicative of the success or failure of the passive transfer.
